How to Choose the Right Seat Door Lock

Start with the model: Leon, Altea, Toledo, Exeo or Ibiza, and the year.
Pick the door: front or rear, and right (driver side on UK cars) or left (passenger side).
Match the OE number and pin count on your old lock. Locks for the same model can come with 6, 7, 8 or 9-pin plugs.

Fitting tips: check the fuse and the wiring in the rubber gaiter between the door and the body pillar first, as broken wires there cause the same symptoms. Transfer the handle and lock cables carefully, set the child lock on rear latches to match the old one, and test with the door open before refitting the door card.

Do Leon, Altea and Toledo use the same door locks?

The Leon Mk2, Altea / Altea XL and Toledo Mk3 share many door locks, which is why several listings name all three. Always check the OE number and pin count on your old lock, because more than one version was fitted.

Why is my Seat Exeo lock listed with Audi?

The Exeo was developed from the Audi A4, so it shares door locks with that car. The OE numbers start with 8E or 4F, the same as the Audi part.

My old lock has a different pin count. Will it still fit?

No. The new lock's plug must match your car's wiring. Count the pins on the old lock and choose the version with the same number.

Is the actuator separate from the latch?

On these Seat models the motor is built into the latch, so the whole lock unit is replaced.
