Our replacement Jeep throttle bodies cover the Compass and Patriot 2.0 / 2.4 petrol and the Grand Cherokee and Commander 3.0 CRD diesel. The petrol unit also fits the Dodge Caliber, Avenger and Journey. The 3.0 CRD unit is shared with the Chrysler 300C and many Mercedes-Benz V6 diesels. Is It Your Throttle Body?

Rough or high idle
Revs hunt up and down, or the idle sits too high.

Limp mode
Engine light on, reduced power and a throttle fault code.

Hesitation
Delay or flat spot when you press the accelerator.

Stalling
Cuts out when slowing down or at junctions.

Petrol and diesel units are not interchangeable: the 6-pin petrol unit and the 5-pin diesel unit are different parts. We don't currently list throttle bodies for the Renegade, Wrangler, Cherokee KL, the newer Compass, or Grand Cherokee petrol (3.7 / 4.7 / 5.7 HEMI) and WK2 models. Contact our team to check what we can supply.

How to Choose

Petrol or diesel? Check your V5C. "CRD" means it's the diesel.
Find the part number on the old throttle body: 04891735 for petrol, or A642 090 / 68012325 for diesel.
Count the pins: the petrol unit has 6, the diesel has a 5-pin oval plug.

After fitting: disconnect the battery for a few minutes or clear the codes with a scanner, then let the engine idle without touching the pedal so it can relearn the new throttle position. On the 3.0 CRD, run a throttle adaptation with a diagnostic tool. See our throttle body maintenance guide.

Which throttle body fits a Jeep Compass or Patriot 2.4?

The 2.0 and 2.4 petrol Compass (MK49) and Patriot use 04891735AC, a 6-pin unit. The same part fits the Dodge Caliber, Avenger and Journey with the same engines.

Which throttle body fits a Grand Cherokee 3.0 CRD?

The WH/WK Grand Cherokee 3.0 CRD (2005–2010) uses 68012325AA, which is the same part as Mercedes A6420900270. It also fits the Commander 3.0 CRD and the Chrysler 300C 3.0 CRD.

Will it fit my Grand Cherokee WK2 (2011-on)?

The WK2 3.0 CRD uses a different VM Motori diesel engine, so this unit is not listed for it. Contact us with your registration and we'll check.
