How to Choose the Right Volvo Door Lock

Know your model and year, for example XC60 Mk1 or V70 III.
Pick the door: front or rear, and right (driver side on UK cars) or left (passenger side).
Check for a right-hand-drive (RHD) version. Some Volvo front locks are made separately for RHD and LHD cars. UK cars are RHD.

Fitting tips: check the fuse and the door wiring loom first, as broken wires between the door and the pillar cause the same symptoms. Transfer the handle and lock cables carefully, and test the lock with the door open before refitting the door card. Why are there two different front right locks for the XC60?

Volvo made different front lock versions over the years, including separate right-hand-drive versions. Match the OE number on your old lock, for example 31253658 or 31416674, or send us your reg so we can confirm.

Will an S60 / V60 lock fit my XC60?

Some XC60 models share the 5-pin front lock with the S60 and V60, but earlier XC60s use a different lock. Check the pin count and OE number on your old lock.

Why are Ford models listed on Volvo rear locks?

The Volvo V70 shares its rear door locks with the Ford Focus, C-Max and Mondeo of the same period, so one part fits all of them. Check the OE number to confirm.

Is the actuator separate from the latch?

On these Volvo models the motor is built into the latch, so the complete lock unit is replaced.
