Is It Your Throttle Body?
Revs rise and fall, or the engine shakes at idle.
Power is cut, usually with the engine warning light on.
Flat spots or slow response on the accelerator.
Especially when slowing down or coming to a stop.
A dirty MAF sensor, a faulty MAP sensor, a vacuum leak or a sticking EGR valve can cause the same symptoms. See our throttle body guide for the full list of causes.

Hyundai Throttle Body FAQs
Will a Kia throttle body fit my Hyundai?
Usually, yes. Hyundai and Kia share engines, so the Hyundai i30 1.6 and the Kia Ceed 1.6 use the same throttle body. If the part number on your old unit matches, it will fit.
Which throttle body fits a Hyundai Tucson 2.0 CRDi?
The first-generation Tucson (JM) 2.0 CRDi uses part number 35100-27400 / 35100-27410. It's a 4-pin unit that also fits the Kia Sportage 2.0 CRDi.
Do I need to relearn a new throttle body?
Usually, yes. The engine computer needs to learn the closed position of the new unit. On many Hyundai petrol engines this happens with an ignition-on and idle routine. Some models need a diagnostic tool.
Will cleaning fix my throttle body?
It can help if the problem is carbon build-up. It won't fix a worn motor or a failed position sensor. If fault codes return after cleaning, the unit needs replacing.
Can't find your car?
Not every throttle body we can supply is listed online, including some i10, i20 and later Tucson models. Contact our parts team with your registration, VIN or part number and we'll check.
