Guide to Purchasing Engine Parts - D2P Autoparts

The engine is one of the most important components of the car. We sell high performance efficient engine auto parts to improve your driving experience. Some of our most popular products include Ignition Coils, Camshafts, Crankshafts and components, EGR Valves, Valves and Valve train parts, Engine Covers, Engine mounts and hardware.

Ignition Coils

Ignition coils are essential for the smooth running of a car engine. It works primarily as an induction coil which changes the dozen volts of the car into thousand volts spark the plug and ignite the engine. There are different kinds of ignition systems. Whereas some of them use a single coil to help jump the spark plug that ignites the engine, other engine systems use individual coils for each cylinder. The engine is used whenever a person tries to start the car’s engine. It is important to keep the engine in top shape. It is usually believed that the ignition coil in your car shall last you about 100,000 miles or more.

Camshafts

The camshaft of the car is installed beneath the engine of the car. The purpose of the camshaft is to perform a controlled opening and closing of the valve of the engine. Due to this reason, the accelerator of the car often slows down when there is a fault in the camshaft.

Crankshaft

A crankshaft is the shaft inside the engine that controls the inner ignition motor to which the interfacing rods are appended. It is an important component of the motor that is concerned with facilitating the rotational movements. In the simplest of words, it is that shaft within the engine which has crank and crank pins.

EGR Valves

Contemporary diesel engines use the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) technology. This is a system of controlling and managing the emission of Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) which is generated during the combustion that takes place in the engine.  The Exhaust Gas Recirculation system operates by pushing a small amount of the exhaust to the combustion chamber, thereby cooling down the thermal temperature of the combustion resulting in reducing the emission. One of the biggest problems faced by car owners is that the EGR valve gets sticky when carbon gets deposited on it. This prevents the recirculation of the exhaust gases. This is the reason why certain vehicles emit black smoke from the exhaust.

If you see the “check engine” signal on your dashboard, be sure to get your car checked for faults in the EGR Valves.

Engine covers

The engine cover substantially reduces the noise from the engine. It also protects and safeguards the engine from dust, debris. It helps in keeping the engine bay clean. Although there are many uses of engine covers, the most common use is to keep the engine noise-free. It also provides insulation underneath the hood which can provide protection against a potential fire accident.
